Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park (first permanent settlement)

The Las Vegas Mormon Fort was established in 1855 by Mormon missionaries and is recognized as the site of the first permanent non-native settlement in the Las Vegas Valley. The surviving adobe structures are preserved as Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park and the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park interprets early settlement history and the region's 19th-century water and overland-travel significance.
