UNESCO World Heritage inscription of the San Antonio Missions

In 2015 the San Antonio Missions (the four 18th‑century Spanish frontier missions and associated structures along the San Antonio River) were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for their cultural significance. The inscription recognizes the ensemble of Mission San José, Mission Concepción, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada and the acequia system as outstanding examples of frontier colonial missions. National Park Service interpretation and visitor information about the World Heritage designation are provided through the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park facilities.
