Mooneys Building

Mooneys Building is a heritage-listed warehouse located at 130-132 Mary Street in Brisbane, Queensland, designed by renowned architect Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and completed in 1883. Originally built for tobacconist William Mooney, the building has a rich history, serving various purposes including housing the Repatriation Department after World War I, which assisted returning soldiers. The structure features a two-storeyed stone design with Italianate detailing, showcasing significant architectural elements such as arched openings and decorative mouldings. Listed on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1993, Mooneys Building is an important cultural landmark that reflects the evolution of Queensland's history and contributes to the aesthetic of the surrounding streetscape.
