Daniel Boone Hays House

The Daniel Boone Hays House, also known as Hays Farm, is a historic stone dwelling located near Defiance, Missouri, built between 1826 and 1836. This two-story 'L'-plan house was constructed by Daniel Boone Hays, the grandson of the famed pioneer Daniel Boone. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Although the original structure was lost to a tornado or fire, the site remains a point of interest for tourists and researchers, highlighting the legacy of the Boone family in the region. The area has faced additional tornado damage, making the preservation of its history even more poignant.
