Highland Mall redeveloped into ACC Highland

Highland Mall, a regional indoor shopping mall that declined through the 2000s, was located on the north side of central Austin. Austin Community College purchased and redeveloped the property, converting much of the former mall into ACC Highland, a mixed-use community college campus and public space. ACC Highland opened for classes in 2014 and incorporates classrooms, offices, and community-oriented facilities within the repurposed mall structure.
