Whaley House (reputedly haunted site)

The Whaley House, built by Thomas Whaley in 1857 in Old Town San Diego, stands on land that was used for a town gallows during the 1850s. The building has been continuously promoted as a site of hauntings and has been a museum and tourist attraction documenting those claims. It is frequently cited in national lists of haunted houses and has hosted ghost tours and paranormal investigations, although such sightings are debated.
