Rector Waterworks Building

The Rector Waterworks Building, located at 703 South Main Street in Rector, Arkansas, is a historic civic structure built around 1928. This single-story brick building features a distinctive false gabled front and a flat roof, with a facade that includes pairs of round-arch windows and a central double-door entry sheltered by a gable-roofed portico. Not only did it serve as a crucial part of the city's first water supply system, but it also functioned as the local jail for about 15 years. The building was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history.
