Skolfield–Whittier House

The Skolfield–Whittier House, located in Brunswick, Maine, is a Victorian museum that serves as a 'time capsule' of the era, having remained largely unchanged since the 19th century. Built between 1858 and 1862 for the Skolfield family, the house showcases exquisite Rococo Revival furniture, marble fireplaces, and elegant decor. After a period of living in England, the family returned and renovated the home, incorporating English design influences. The house later became home to the Whittier family, notable for their contributions to medicine and education. Today, the museum offers guided tours during the summer, allowing visitors to explore its rich history and preserved interiors.
