Mission San José - the 'Queen of the Missions' and its acequia

Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo, commonly called Mission San José, is often nicknamed the 'Queen of the Missions' because of its size and ornate stonework. Founded in the 18th century, the mission complex includes a restored church, cloister pathways, and parts of the original acequia (irrigation) system that supplied water to fields and gardens. Much of the site is preserved within San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
