International Fountain (Seattle Center)

The International Fountain at Seattle Center was built for the 1962 Century 21 Exposition (the Seattle World's Fair) and became a long-standing public landmark. It underwent a major renovation in 1995 that introduced computer-controlled water jets and programmable sequences coordinated with audio, allowing choreographed water-and-sound programs. The fountain is a popular, free public installation used for seasonal events, performances, and as a cooling attraction in summer months.
