Fry-Barry House

The Fry-Barry House, located at 314 W. Austin in Marshall, Texas, is a historic one-story brick and frame home built in 1860, making it one of the oldest residences in the area. Designed by notable architect W.R.D. Ward, the house reflects the architectural style of its time. It was purchased by Major Edwin James Fry in 1872 and remained in the Fry-Barry family for generations. The house was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1962 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, highlighting its significance in Texas history. Today, it is owned by Joslin Marshall and stands as a testament to the rich heritage of Marshall.
