Fort Caroline National Memorial

Fort Caroline National Memorial is a National Park Service site that commemorates the 1564 French colonial fort and preserves related archaeological and landscape features. The memorial includes a visitor center, interpretive exhibits, and a reconstructed palisade area that interpret early colonial military infrastructure on the St. Johns River. It is managed as part of the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve and documents one of the earliest European attempts at settlement in what is now Jacksonville.
