Capital One Arena (Penn Quarter/Chinatown)

Opened in 1997 as the MCI Center, Capital One Arena is a major downtown sports and entertainment venue that serves as the home arena for the NBA's Washington Wizards and the NHL's Washington Capitals. The facility also hosts concerts, family shows, and other large-scale events that draw visitors to the Penn Quarter and Chinatown neighborhoods. Its development helped catalyze additional commercial and cultural redevelopment in the surrounding area.
