Kotomin House

Kotomin House is a historic landmark located at Nevsky Prospekt 18 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Originally built in the early 18th century, it has undergone several transformations, notably when merchant Konon Kotomin commissioned architect Vasily Stasov to create a new palace between 1812 and 1815. The building has a rich cultural history, having housed the first wax figure museum in the city and later becoming a renowned confectionery frequented by famous literary figures such as Alexander Pushkin and Fyodor Dostoevsky. The site also hosted a popular restaurant and a famous bookshop, contributing to its legacy as a hub of artistic and social life. Today, it features a Literary Cafe that continues the tradition of celebrating literature and poetry.
