Ford House Office Building

The Ford House Office Building, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., serves as a unique office space for committee staff and various offices, including the Architect of the Capitol and the Congressional Budget Office. Unlike other House Office Buildings, it is not connected underground to the Capitol and does not house any members of Congress. Constructed in 1939 as part of FDR's New Deal, it has a rich history, having previously served as the home for the U.S. Census Bureau and the FBI's Latent Print Unit. Renamed in 1990 after Gerald R. Ford, the building reflects the evolution of governmental functions and the architectural heritage of the area, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers.
