Merchant's House Museum

The Merchant's House Museum at 29 East 4th Street is a preserved urban family home built in 1832 and occupied by the Tredwell family for more than a century. Designated a National Historic Landmark, it is celebrated as one of the best-preserved examples of a 19th-century domestic interior in New York City. The house museum retains original furnishings and finishes and interprets domestic life and material culture of the 19th century through guided tours and programs.
