Poudre Rearing Unit

The Poudre Rearing Unit, located in Bellvue, Colorado, is a cold water fish production facility operated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Established in 1948 at an elevation of 7,700 feet, it plays a vital role in the conservation and production of fish species, particularly broodstock rainbow trout and greenback cutthroat trout. The facility produces millions of eggs annually and stocks approximately 50,000 trout in public waters along the front range, making it an important site for both ecological preservation and recreational fishing.
