Independence Seaport Museum and USS Olympia - last surviving ship from Dewey’s squadron

The Independence Seaport Museum at Penn’s Landing preserves maritime history and displays the USS Olympia (C‑6), the protected cruiser that served as Commodore George Dewey’s flagship at the 1898 Battle of Manila Bay. USS Olympia is the only surviving major U.S. Navy ship from that battle and is interpreted by the museum as a significant artifact of late‑19th‑century naval history.
