States Ballroom

The States Ballroom, located in Bee, Nebraska, is a historic twelve-sided community building that opened in 1939 as a Works Progress Administration project. Designed by local architect Vladimir Sobotka, the ballroom features a unique Moderne style and has become a defining landmark for the village. Originally intended for dances, it has hosted a variety of public events, including concerts, plays, and even basketball games, earning the nickname 'Bee Astrodome.' The ballroom is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to be a focal point for community gatherings, including an annual barn dance.
