P.S.1 / MoMA PS1 (former Public School 1)

MoMA PS1 occupies the former Public School 1 building at 22-25 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. The public school building was repurposed as P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in the 1970s and the institution later entered into an affiliation with the Museum of Modern Art in 2000. The site is a documented example of an NYC public school building closed and adaptively reused for cultural purposes.
