Alki Beach Park Indigenous history interpretation

Alki Beach Park on Alki Point contains city-installed interpretive signage that acknowledges the area's Indigenous history and the Coast Salish peoples who lived, fished, and traveled in the area before and after Euro-American settlement. The site is commonly associated with accounts of the 1851 settler landing and the signage places that event within a longer Indigenous presence. The interpretive panels are part of Seattle Parks' efforts to present local Native history at public waterfront sites.
