Number One Observatory Circle (Vice President's residence)

Number One Observatory Circle on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory has been the official residence of the Vice President since 1974. The house and grounds are located within the Naval Observatory complex and are not open to the public. Its placement on a secure federal campus off Massachusetts Avenue makes the residence a restricted and comparatively hidden element of Washington's governmental geography.
