Columbia Wharf, Rotherhithe

Columbia Wharf, located on the south bank of the River Thames in London, is a historic grain silo built in 1864, notable for being the first of its kind in a British port. Designed by architect James Edmeston, it served as a storage facility for various foodstuffs until 1976. The complex, which includes a former engine house and boiler, was designated a Grade II listed building in 1983. Today, it has been transformed into residential accommodation, with part of the structure incorporated into the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London – Docklands Riverside, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
