Peralta Adobe & Fallon House - Peralta family and Thomas Fallon

The Peralta Adobe is the oldest building in San Jose, built around 1797 and associated with the Spanish/Mexican Peralta family who were early Californio landholders in the area. The adjacent Fallon House was the 19th-century residence of Thomas Fallon, an early San Jose mayor; the two structures are operated together as a historic site interpreting the city's transition from Mexican to American governance. The site preserves artifacts and architecture tied to these historical figures and the city's early history.
