Plumptre House, Nottingham

Plumptre House, a historic building in Nottingham, England, served as the residence of the Plumptre family from the 13th century until 1791. Located near St Mary's Church, it was remodeled in the early 18th century by architect Colen Campbell. The last family member to inhabit the house was John Plumptre, an MP for Nottingham. After his death, the property changed hands several times, including a period as a home for the Nottingham School of Design. Unfortunately, Plumptre House was demolished in 1860 to make way for a lace warehouse, marking the end of its long-standing presence in the city.
