Lake Street Schlitz Tied House

The Lake Street Schlitz Tied House, also known as the La Lucé Building, is a historic four-story Queen Anne style structure located at 1393 W. Lake Street in Chicago's Near West Side. Built in 1892, it originally served as a Schlitz tied house and apartments, later becoming a tavern and an Italian restaurant, La Lucé, which operated until 2016. The building is recognized as a Chicago Landmark due to its significant architectural and historical features. Despite facing potential demolition, it was granted landmark status in 2021, preserving its legacy for future generations.
