Uppsala House

Uppsala House, located in the northern part of Tartu's Old Town near St John's Church, is one of the oldest wooden buildings in Estonia, dating back to the 1750s. This historic structure has witnessed significant events, including surviving the 1775 Great Fire that devastated much of Tartu. Originally serving various purposes, from a student residence to a butcher shop, it was renovated in collaboration with Tartu's sister city, Uppsala, and operated as a guest house until 2010. Today, it functions as the office of the Department of Public Relations for Tartu City Government, showcasing its rich history and architectural significance.
