Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and the lotus blooms

Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, a National Park Service site in Northeast Washington, preserves ponds of waterlilies and lotus and is one of the few remaining tidal freshwater marshes in the city. The gardens are famous locally for their summer lotus blooms and the park presents seasonal programming and opportunities for plant and wildlife observation. The site documents horticultural and natural-history aspects of the Anacostia River watershed and draws visitors for its distinctive aquatic-plant displays.
