Pewabic Pottery

Founded in 1903 by Mary Chase Perry Stratton and Horace J. Caulkins, Pewabic Pottery is a historic ceramics studio known for its iridescent glazes and decorative tiles used in buildings throughout Detroit. The studio and school have produced architectural tiles for landmarks including the Detroit Public Library and the Guardian Building. Pewabic is designated as a National Historic Landmark and continues to operate as a working pottery and museum offering classes and exhibitions.
