Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument (Monument Circle)

The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument on Monument Circle was designed by German architect Bruno Schmitz and completed in 1902. The limestone-and-granite monument rises to 284 feet and serves as a focal point for downtown Indianapolis. Its lower levels contain museum exhibits and an observation deck that has been accessible to the public.
