National Building Museum's Great Hall and interior columns

The National Building Museum occupies the former Pension Bureau building and is noted for its 110-foot-high Great Hall flanked by 40 colossal Corinthian columns made from cast iron and terracotta. Completed in 1887, the hall's immense scale and repeated columnar rhythm make it one of the largest interior spaces of its kind in the United States. The building now houses exhibitions, programs, and events related to architecture, design, engineering, and urban planning.
