Peralta Adobe & Fallon House Historic Site - oldest building in San Jose

The Peralta Adobe, built around 1797, is the oldest building remaining in the city of San Jose and represents the Spanish and Mexican-era adobe architecture of early California settlements. Adjacent Fallon House, built in the 1850s, is one of the best-preserved examples of an early San Jose Victorian residence; both are managed as historic house museums by History San José. The site is a small, easily overlooked historic pocket in downtown San Jose providing tangible links to the city's 18th- and 19th-century past.
