Henry Hirshfeld House and Cottage

The Henry Hirshfeld House and Cottage are historic homes located in downtown Austin, Texas, originally occupied by the influential Hirshfeld family. The cottage, constructed in 1873, served as the residence for Henry and Jennie Hirshfeld until the larger house was completed in 1885, designed by local architect John Andrewartha. Both structures have been meticulously preserved and currently function as the Office of Governmental Relations for the Texas A&M University System. They are situated at 303 and 305 W. 9th Street and were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, making them a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in Texas history.
