Colonsay Plantation, originally known as the Old Hamilton Place, is a historic house located in Georgia, USA, with roots tracing back to the early days of the British Crown's rule over the Province of Georgia. Established by James Mendenhall in the late 18th century, the plantation is named after the Scottish island of Colonsay. The site features a remarkable two-story house built by Mendenhall's son, Marmaduke, which served as an inn and trading post. The architecture includes unique features such as a winding staircase and hand-hewn beams, reflecting the craftsmanship of the era.
