Hampton Wick Local Board Office

The Former Hampton Wick Local Board Office, also known as The Old Library, is a Grade II listed building located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Established in 1863 and designed by architect Richard T. Elsam in 1884, this Jacobean-style structure features a distinctive terracotta façade and a slate-tiled roof. Originally serving as the office for the Local Board and later the Urban District Council, it transitioned into a public library before being converted into private housing in 2016. The building's architectural highlights include a semicircular entrance arch, Composite pilasters with sculpted grotesques, and a Dutch gable adorned with a roundel depicting a stag and crown, symbolizing the local board's heritage.
