Kennedy Bakery

Kennedy Bakery, located at 813 Congress Street in Houston, Texas, is a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979. It is considered the oldest building in Houston still on its original site. Established by Irish immigrant John Kennedy in 1842, the bakery evolved through various phases, including operating as a grocery and grist mill, and played a role during the American Civil War. The building has undergone renovations and has housed various businesses, including the well-known bar La Carafe.
