Fighting Creek Plantation

Fighting Creek Plantation is a historic plantation house located in Powhatan, Virginia, notable for being one of the few surviving mid-19th century plantation houses in the state. Built around 1841, the two-story stucco manor was designed, reportedly, by architect Alexander Jackson Davis for John Brockenbrough Harvie and his wife. Originally part of a vast 1,700-acre plantation, the property now encompasses just 4.3 acres. The house features a striking main facade with a two-story portico supported by square Doric columns and a pedimented gable, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
