Airport originally named for Senator Pat McCarran

Las Vegas' primary commercial airport was long known as McCarran International Airport in honor of U.S. Senator Pat McCarran, who served Nevada in the mid‑20th century. The airport, located on the south side of the city, retained McCarran's name for decades before being renamed in 2021.
