Roeder Blocks

The Roeder Blocks were two historic commercial buildings in Los Angeles, developed by Louis Roeder in the late 19th century. They served as important architectural landmarks during a time of rapid growth in the city. Roeder Block I, built on the site of Roeder's original blacksmith shop, became a hub for various tenants by 1896, while Roeder Block II followed, showcasing updated design trends and a larger layout. Although both buildings have been demolished, their legacy is preserved through photographs and archives, highlighting the impact of individual entrepreneurs on the development of early Los Angeles.
