Fraunces Tavern - Washington's Farewell to His Officers

On December 4, 1783, George Washington delivered his Farewell Address to the officers of the Continental Army at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan. The building at this site has been repeatedly rebuilt and restored; the current structure houses a museum and restaurant interpreting Revolutionary-era events.
