Blizard Building

The Blizard Building, located in Whitechapel, London, is an architectural marvel housing the Blizard Institute, part of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Opened in 2005, it features striking glass-clad pavilions connected by a colorful walkway, designed by architect Will Alsop. The building is named after William Blizard, founder of the London Hospital Medical College. Notable for its innovative design, it includes a Neuron Pod, a unique structure resembling a nerve cell, which houses the Centre of the Cell, the world's first science education center within biomedical research laboratories. The building has also made appearances in popular culture, including the BBC series Luther.
