Cabins Historic District

The Cabins Historic District, located near Novinger in Adair County, Missouri, is a national historic district that showcases nine contributing buildings and several significant sites from one of the earliest settlements in northeast Missouri, developed between 1829 and 1865. Visitors can explore five antebellum structures, including the John B. Cain House and the Asa King Collett House, all set amidst picturesque forests and farmland. The district also features notable historical resources such as the Conner Tannery site, Collett Spring, Fort Clark, Camp Collett, Collett Cemetery, and Native American burial mounds. It was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
