Texas State Capitol - largest state capitol building

The Texas State Capitol in Austin is the largest state capitol building in the United States by square footage. Completed in 1888, the building is constructed primarily of sunset red granite and sits on a 22-acre grounds. The Capitol is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas State Historic Landmark. Visitors can take free guided or self-guided tours of the interior and grounds.
