Ford's Theatre - historic playhouse and site of Lincoln's assassination

Ford's Theatre is a working 19th-century theater best known as the site where President Abraham Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865. The adjacent Petersen House preserves the room where Lincoln died and the theater operates as both a historic site and an active performance venue managed by the Ford's Theatre Society.
