Watkins Family Farm Historic District

The Watkins Family Farm Historic District, also known as Lakeland Farm, is a fascinating historic site located near Raymore, Missouri. This national historic district features 18 contributing buildings and various structures, showcasing agricultural life from 1868 to 1957. Visitors can explore three residential buildings, eight barns, and unique features like a milk house, pump house, and several dams and ponds. Notably, the Allen-Watkins Residence, built in 1913, exemplifies Prairie School architecture and was constructed from a Sears and Roebuck prefabricated kit. Designated as a historic site in 2007, it offers a glimpse into the region's rich agricultural heritage.
