Old St. Joseph's Church

Old St. Joseph's was established in 1733 by Jesuit missionaries and is one of the oldest continuously operating Catholic parishes in the United States. The parish served as a focal point for Philadelphia's Catholic community through the colonial period, the Revolution, and into the 19th century. The church and its records document early Catholic worship and education in Pennsylvania. Old St. Joseph's remains an active parish in the Old City neighborhood.
