Avianca Building

The Avianca Building is a striking 161-meter-tall skyscraper located in Bogotá, Colombia, at the intersection of 16th street and Seventh Avenue, adjacent to Santander Park. Completed in 1969, it was the tallest international style skyscraper in South America at the time and features a modern design with continuous windows on its facades. The building, which houses offices, was constructed on the site of the former Regina hotel and was designed by prominent architecture firms. Notably, the building experienced a significant fire in 1973 that resulted in casualties but left the structure largely intact. Today, it stands as a landmark in Bogotá's skyline and is an important site for both tourists and researchers interested in architectural history.
