Philemon Russell House

The Philemon Russell House, located in Somerville, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved example of a side-hall Greek Revival farmhouse, built in 1845. Originally part of a 50-acre apple orchard owned by farmer Philemon Robbins Russell, the property underwent development in 1845, leading to the creation of nearby streets. The house has a rich history, including a mysterious fire in 1905 that caused significant damage. It was moved to its current location and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history.
