Stanley Mills

Stanley Mills, located in Ryeford near Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, is a historic 19th-century woollen mill established in 1813. Originally powered by water from the River Frome, the mill features an impressive Grade I listed main building characterized by its cast iron framing and red brick vaults, designed for fire resistance. The site has a rich history, transitioning ownership multiple times and evolving into a public company by 1920. Although production ceased in the 1980s, the mill remains a significant architectural landmark, with plans announced in 2017 for redevelopment into residential flats. Visitors can appreciate the mill's historical significance and its picturesque setting along the river.
