Michigan Central Station (abandoned depot and restoration site)

Michigan Central Station opened for service in 1914 and served as Detroit's primary intercity rail station until passenger service ended in 1988. The 18-story office tower and attached train shed sat largely vacant and heavily vandalized for decades, making the structure a widely photographed example of urban ruin. The property was acquired by Ford Motor Company in 2018 and has been the subject of restoration and redevelopment efforts since that acquisition.
